Biblio

Biblio has a wide selection of e-books and audio books in Swedish and there is also an extensive range of e-books and audio books in English as well as other foreign languages.

E-books

E-books can be downloaded to your computer, tablet or smartphone. Part of the range of e-books can also be read directly on-line i.e. when you are connected to the internet without the need for an additional program. On the ’e-books’ pages under the title ’How it works’ you can find more information on how the service works.

E-audiobooks

To listen to audio books you need to be connected to the internet. On the ’e-books’ pages under the title ’How it works’ you can find more information on how the service works.

Biblio App

Within the app you can read e-books and listen to audio books whether you are either on- or off-line. Biblio works on both iOS and Android devices and can be found in either App Store or Google Play. Biblio can be accessed in several languages such as Swedish, Finnish, English and Arabic. When you open the app for the first time you need to choose and click on Fredrika from within the list and log in with your library card number and PIN number.

Conditions

To use the service you will need your Fredrikabiblioteken library card and pin code. The loan period is 28 days and it is possible to loan four books per month.

Ellibs

From the Ellibs e-book service you will find mostly e-books and e-audiobooks for children and young people in swedish and finnish. Ellibs also provide a small range of e-books and e-audiobooks in English. On the Ellibs webpage you will find more information about the service.

E-books

Ellibs’ e-books can be downloaded to your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Some books can also be read online, i.e. if you are connected to the internet you don’t need to download any additional programs to your device.

In order to listen Ellibs’ audio books, you need to be connected to the internet.

The Ellibs app

By using the app, you can read e-books and listen to e-audiobooks both online and offline. The Ellibs app can be used on both IOS and Android and can be downloaded from App Store or Google Play. When opening the app for the first time, choose Vaasa ja Fredrika from the list of libraries. Sign in with your library card number and your pin code.

Conditions

To be able to use the Ellibs service you need a library card from any of the Fredrika libraries and a pin code. The loaning period is either 1, 7, or 28 days (you can decide which is best for you). You can loan up to 5 books at any one time.

Pressreader

Pressreader is a service that provides digital newspapers and magazines from all around the world. Sign in with your library card and pin code to get unlimited access to Pressreader’s full selection.

By choosing Browse (in the app) or Catalog (on the website) you will find a range of categories and you can also filter by language, or land of publication.

Sign in to Pressreader

Go to www.pressreader.com or download the Pressreader app to your device.

Press Sign in, thereafter Library or Group.

Find your own library. The easiest way is to write the name of the municipality in the search box.

Sign in to the service by filling in your library card number and your pin code. You don’t have to create a user account unless you want to.

You will stay signed in for 30 days on the same device. After that you will have to sign in again.

Use Pressreader without signing in

You can also use Pressreader on your smartphone or tablet without signing in when you visit the library and are connected to the library’s wireless network. Open the app or visit Pressreader’s webpage. The green coffee cup that can be seen in your device’s right corner indicates that you are connected to the library’s Pressreader hotspot, and you can download magazines to your device. When you have opened the app or visited the webpage while being connected to the library’s wi-fi, you can browse and download magazines during 72 hours after leaving the library’s facilities.

Pressreader is available in all the Fredrika library network municipalities.

Viddla

Viddla is a streaming service where you can borrow movies with your library card and pin code

Viddla is available in all the Fredrika library network municipalities.

How to use Viddla:

Start by choosing the movie you want to watch. Under the menu Films you can filter the selection by choosing a genre or an audience. Click on the picture of the movie you want to see and click on Play film. Choose your library and enter your library card number and your PIN-code. The movie is available for 48 hours and can be watched as many times as you want during this time.

Restrictions:

You can borrow a maximum of three movies per month. The library has budgeted a certain amount of money for each month, and if the limit is reached no one can borrow movies until the next month.

Age limits:

Viddla’s age limits are set according to the Act on Audiovisual Programmes. It is not possible to borrow a movie if you do not fulfil the age limit. You can read more about the age limits on KAVI's website.

Language:

When watching a movie, you can choose the language of the subtitles by clicking on the gear icon.

Resume watching a movie:

Viddla has no log in-button. You can resume watching a movie by searching the movie, clicking on the Play film-button and entering your information. Viddla remembers that you already have borrowed this movie.

Watch a movie on TV:

There is no smart-TV application for Viddla, but it can be used with e.g. Chromecast or AirPlay. You can also watch the movies directly on your computer or tablet computer. Find out more about how Viddla works on different devices here.

Only in Finland:

You cannot use Viddla abroad.
